Since Badu's debut album, Baduizm, exploded onto the music scene in 1997 with soulful hits such as "On & On," "Next Lifetime" and "Appletree” she has continued to move from strength to strength with every release. Badu's fifth studio album, New Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh, emerged in 2010 with a softer tone than its predecessor.
